Located on the warm water of the Pacific Ocean on the Mexican mainland, the El Cid Mega Resort encompasses a variety of accommodation, dinning and recreational options. The 1320 rooms are located in four separate hotels within the resort. A variety of fine restaurants and bars (including swim up bars), free form swimming pools, shopping plaza, a water sports center, yacht club and a sailing academy, and a yacht marina with its own sport fishing fleet are all part of this full service resort's amenities.

The El Cid Country Club features a scenic 18 hole championship golf course and state of the art dual-directional driving range. Nine more holes designed by the legendary golfer Lee Trevino are to be added and ready for play by November 1998 to make it the only 27 hole course in Mazatlan. The course, which is lined with shade trees and coconut palms, is know for its excellent views on holes number 5,6,8, & 18 and for its lake views on holes number 5,8,9,12 & 14. This challenging course is situated on a biological reserve that also features deer, turtles, fish, and exotic birds in a natural setting.
